Professor Dr. Abdullah Al-Tamimi

Professor Dr. Abdullah Abdulmo’men Muhyoub Al-Tamimi is recognized as one of the prominent Arab academics in the field of media and communication, combining rigorous academic qualifications with extensive teaching, administrative, and research experience. His distinguished career makes him highly qualified to assume leadership positions within higher education institutions.

Born in Taiz, Yemen, in 1966, Dr. Al-Tamimi currently resides in Turkey. He began his academic journey at Al-Azhar University, Egypt, where he obtained the following degrees:

• Bachelor’s degree in Media (1992)

• Master’s degree in Media (1997, with distinction)

• PhD in Media – specialization in Radio and Television (2003, with first-class honors)

On the academic level, Dr. Al-Tamimi has held teaching positions at prestigious universities, most notably at Ajman University of Science and Technology (2003–2014), where he served as an Assistant Professor and Coordinator of the Radio and Television track in the College of Media and Communication. He contributed to the development of academic programs and curricula in media studies. He also worked as a visiting professor at Al Jazeera University – Dubai, in addition to an early academic experience at Taiz National University – Yemen.

In terms of administrative and media leadership, Dr. Al-Tamimi founded Bayt Al-Arab TV channel in Turkey in 2019. He also served as the Executive Director of Kicking International Group in Dubai (2000–2005), and as a media and marketing consultant for several institutions and companies in the UAE and Malaysia.
