Dr. Tahani Hamad Al-Obaidli

Dr. Tahani Hamad Al-Obaidli is a distinguished academic and expert in intellectual property law. She currently serves as the President of the Arab Agency for Intellectual Property, in addition to being a faculty member at both the Faculty of Law and Political Science and the Faculty of Business and Management at International Suleiman University, where she teaches intellectual property and supervises various academic and research initiatives in the field.
Dr. Al-Obaidli brings extensive academic and professional experience, with a focus on advancing legal awareness in the Arab world regarding intellectual property rights, especially in light of modern legal and technological challenges. She is known for her active participation in regional and international conferences and events dedicated to innovation, intellectual property protection, digital governance, and the harmonization of legal systems.
In 2020, Dr. Tahani organized a significant academic seminar titled “The Reality of Intellectual Property in Arab Countries”, in cooperation with International Suleiman University and the Arab Agency for Intellectual Property. The seminar addressed the impact of the COVID-19 pandemic on intellectual property laws and emphasized the need for flexible legal strategies to ensure a balance between rights protection and public interest during emergencies.
She also took part in the “Towards a Secure Middle East with Sustainable Development” conference held in Kuwait in 2022. Her contribution focused on the role of intellectual property in promoting sustainable development and the necessity of building unified regional legal frameworks to safeguard the rights of Arab inventors and creators, helping to bridge legislative gaps in this critical area.
Dr. Al-Obaidli strongly believes in bridging academic work with community engagement. She actively collaborates with her students and research communities to promote a culture of respecting intellectual property rights and supporting knowledge-based entrepreneurship, particularly in emerging and developing environments.
Thanks to her ongoing efforts and academic stature, Dr. Tahani Hamad Al-Obaidli is recognized as one of the leading academic and policy voices in the field of intellectual property in the Arab region.
